When looking for a new provider, I found myself going through the yellow pages looking for someone near my house that I could start visiting. These discount plans are great because they provide savings on everything from Braces, Gum surgery, Endodontics, and child dentistry. I tried to get a traditional individual dental insurance and I was running up against brick walls with the sign-up process and I was told I’d likely have to wait a year to get the plan activated. But what I found was that looking online was be far the superior method of hunting down a good dentist in my area. Studies show that you should go to the dentist for an oral exam, cleaning, and bitewing x-ray every 6-months, although it may no be necessary to get x-rayed more than once per year.
